Thanks for visiting the Raze The Roof Mobile Disco website.

Who Are We?

Raze The Roof Mobile Disco is run by Ray South and Les Nicholas and together we operate a fully reliable and respectable business with many years of experience. We do not belong to any DJ agency and operate independently which allows us to offer our customers a cost effective and personal service. We offer a high standard of customer service with expert advice to ensure your disco booking fulfils your every requirement and is exactly what you want. We do not subcontract our bookings to third party DJ’s or entertainers and do not let others use our name. We are both keen music fans who have worked in other areas of the music industry which we feel gives us an edge on our competitors as we have great music knowledge and understanding. We have access to one of the largest music collections in the South West. We enjoy what we do and take pride in the way we do it.

PLI and PAT Certified

We are fully insured against damage or loss and have liability insurance of up to £2m (PLI). Our equipment is checked regularly and has a portable appliance test certificate (PAT). These are not legal requirements but our customers’ safety and well-being is paramount and we would not operate without them. Some hotels will not permit DJ's without these certificates, so ask to see them. Our certificates are available on request.

The Booking Process / Price

For your piece of mind, all of our bookings are confirmed by way of written agreement and a £50 deposit is necessary to secure your booking. Information we need from you to make a booking is as follows: your contact details, the date required, the venue where the disco is to take place and the duration. All music requirements are arranged separately. The price we quote is the total price you pay - there are no hidden extras: we do not add travel expenses, we do not charge extra for going past 12.00am and we also do not charge horrendously inflated prices just because the booking is a wedding (like most other mobile DJ’s do). All quotes are given over the phone and are written into the booking agreement so you know exactly what you are paying. We give you the option of paying a £50 deposit or the full payment in advance. Customers sending a deposit will be required to pay the balance in cash on the day of the performance start at the latest where a receipt will be issued. We will not accept a cheque on the day of the performance under any circumstances. If you prefer to pay the full balance in advance of your disco this arrangement will be written in your booking agreement with a receipt. Cheques must be received at least 20 days prior to the event. Our booking agreement is designed to serve our customers best interests and acts as our guarantee of abiding by the arrangements and agreement contents.

Cancellations

If for any unforeseen circumstances you need to cancel your disco you must do at the earliest possible time. We will refund all payments received if you cancel more than six weeks from the performance date. Cancellations received within six weeks of the performance date will render the £50 deposit non-returnable, any other payments received will be refunded in full. Cancellations within two weeks of the performance date are not subject to any refund and will require any outstanding balance to be paid in full.

Capacity / Venues

We specialise in events, occasions and parties of up to 250 people max. This is most suited to all private events such as weddings, birthdays and personal occasions etc. We can play alongside bands and other entertainers and have a long successful history of doing so. We have worked in most major hotels, sports halls, large and small function rooms, private and public marquees and at private addresses etc. We do not accept bookings in public houses or wine bars.

Competition

Feel free to ask for quotes from other mobile DJ’s. We will give you the best price we can for the standard of quality we provide, which we believe is in the middle level of the market place. But how can you tell who’s good and who isn’t, who should you book and who shouldn’t you touch with a barge pole? Here are a few hints of what to look out for when booking a mobile disco.

·        Be suspicious of ridiculously low quotes for as the old saying goes: you pay peanuts, you get monkeys.

·        Ask the DJ if he is insured against liability and if his equipment is PAT tested, the answers to these questions will show the standard to which he works to. Most major hotels and other establishments won’t let a DJ in the building without these certificates so if he hasn’t got them he won’t be able to perform at all venues. Make sure you find this out in advance as you may find your DJ isn’t allowed in.

·        Will the DJ be able to cater for your music tastes, that of your guests and be suitable for your function? Ask him questions and tell him what your requirements are, judge his attitude and how he deals with your questions and suggestions. If he rubbishes your ideas in any way, shape or form it means he simply isn’t up for the job and has little regard for what you are looking for. He may push you into his way of thinking because he may be limited to what he can do.

·        If your quote is ridiculously high you may be paying for something that you and your guests simply do not require: like a 2K sound system or overly massive set up that may cater for a thousand people. Any decent mobile DJ will listen to your ideas and respect your suggestions and your quote should reflect your needs and requirements.

Don’t be pressurised into making a booking, do it when you are ready and in your own time. If he’s more interested in getting your booking without really chatting about what your requirements are then don’t go for it. Book when it suits you and when you are sure you have found the right DJ.
